Q. I am not a member of Paypal can I still pay using Paypal?

A. Yes you can. I have configured Paypal so that this can be done.

Q. Why do you only use Buy Now buttons with no shopping cart facility?

A. Payments at the moment are made using Paypal.  You do not need a Paypay account to make payments. All the buttons on this site are encoded securely using the best technology available.  However, I am not convinced about the security for Paypal’s shopping cart technology because this is not encrypted and I will not use it until I am sure that there is no security risk.  If you do want to make multiple purchases you can use Paypal repeatedly which is very safe or if you let me know what Canvases you would like via an email then I can prepare a specially encrypted link for you.   This may take longer than using the conventional Cart but it is completely safe.

Q. I like a piece but I wish it was unique, can you help me?

A. Yes I can if I haven’t sold any of those pieces, please contact me to find out. If I have sold some then there is nothing I can do.  You may like to see the rest of my gallery to see if there are other unique pieces you like. I also have many other pieces that I have not put onto this site or I can do a commission for you.

Q. What is the certificate of authenticity?

A. This will indicate that you are the owner for that piece of art. It will also detail whether the piece is unique or part of a limited edition. You will need this certificate to sell any piece of my art.

Q. I came to your web site about a month ago and the price of the picture I wanted to buy has gone up. Why?

A. The prices you see reflect the current value of the paintings based on demand.  Increasing demand for a limited edition may increases the price, just as an airline ticket may increase in value nearer the time of travel.  I recommend that if you see a piece and you want it, to buy it quickly.  Once the limited editions are gone then they are gone!  Very occasionally, I may have special offers available if I have any stock I wish to clear more quickly.  If you are interested in receiving relevant information then please register your email with me.

Q. I know what painting I want but it is too big. Can I get a smaller one?

A. More than likely.  Contact me and we can take it from there. If you want a bigger one contact me too.

Q. What is the Giclee process?

A. Giclee is pronounced “zhee-clay” and is French for spray. Giclee is the name given to a high quality printing process that utilises advanced ink-spray technology.  The process combines advances in ink pigmentation technology to produce (or reproduce) Fine Art images from a digital picture with excellent quality.

Q. Why do you only give your sizes in inches? And how do I convert this to cm?

A. Mainly because that seems to be how everyone still works.  You convert to cm by multiplying the number of inches by 2.54. So 40” by 40” is about 101.6cm.

Q. How long will the canvases last?

A. The company that I use provide an excellent service using the best quality inks and canvases. They are guaranteed for over 70 years and even longer if they are in black and white.

Q. You mention that you do commissions, what’s the best way to proceed?

A. Just contact me and we can discuss your needs.

Q. Who owns the copyright for your work?

A. I do.  This means that the canvases cannot be reproduced in anyway in any format without my express permission, in much the same way that you cannot make illegal copies of DVDs that you own. If you are interested in purchasing the copyright or a license of any image then please contact me. You may want to do this if you want to use any images in publicity material or even sell the images on for a profit.  I can only do this for unique images on this site, from my portfolio or from a commission. I cannot do this for any image that I have sold as part of a limited edition and in some cases I will not want too.

Q. How long from placing an order will it take to receive the picture?

A. This should be between two to three weeks from recieving your payment.  I will give you an estimate of the delivery time when you place your order.

Q. What if the painting is damaged when it arrives?

A. The paintings are extremely well packaged before being transported and it is highly unlikely that damage will occur. You need to check the painting for any damage before you sign for it and let me know immediately of any damage either via email or telephone.

Q. How can I pay you?

A. At the moment I can accept payment through paypal, or cheque or money transfer.  Please contact me for further details.  If you pay by cheque I will reserve your picture for you while the cheque clears.  At the moment I have not got a fully functional e-commerce web site.  That is beyond my current technical capability!

Q. I live outside of the UK can you still send canvases to me.

A. Yes I can, but I will need to get the delivery costs to you once you tell me which painting you want. As my website becomes more sophisticated then this will be done automatically.

Q. Can I sell my picture on ebay or anywhere else?

A. Yes you can sell the picture that you purchased from me but not the copyright, unless of course you purchased that as well.  If you contact me then I can provide you with an image with the copyright stamp on it that you can post (please see the first Q and A). I can also issue a certificate of transfer of ownership. In this way the person buying the Art knows they are getting an original or a limited edition and I can keep in contact with the new owner.
